SHISEIDO Anti-Dark Circle Eye Cream Review

By Aileen - September 23, 2017

Good morning, sunshines!
Waking up in the morning is always something to be grateful for. Seeing another bright day means another new hope, raise your hands if you agree! This time I am going to do Shiseido Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream review (famous for its White Lucent series), stay tune if you are struggling with dark circles.

Another thing I do every morning is getting super close to the mirror and examining my skin, especially the under-eye area. Since I was a teenager, my eyes could get really puffy and sometimes really dark, compared to my skin color. I literally never walk out of the door without putting on some concealer, otherwise people will start asking me questions. I had been using eye cream since I was like 18 years old or something, I remembered trying the sample of Shiseido eye cream and felt it was really good, so I decided to buy it at duty free in Narita Airport. It was a very bold movement for me because this eye cream costs A LOT, like really A LOT! (around IDR 700.000/USD 50!) I did not know what’s got into me that day, maybe I was desperate enough. Anyways, let’s get to it!

WHAT THE PRODUCT CLAIMS…

“The eye cream enhances radiance and brightness around the eyes. Infusing freshness and radiance into the eye area, this intensive eye cream effectively targets two major causes of dark circles: pigmentation and poor microcirculation. Blue and brown dark circles are visibly reduced over time for a youthful look.”

THE PERFORMANCE…

As you can see in the picture, it has very high-end look, heavy and strong jar, it’s not travel friendly though. The overall look is very simple and elegant just like typical Shiseido products. It has nice smell, not too strong, but definitely not natural smell. The cream is white and thick, you only need small amount and it will spread well. Due to its consistency, it is suitable for cold weather, like Japan, I do not recommend using it in a daytime in hot weather. For tropical climate or if you want very light eye cream/serum, I'd recommend Sensatia botanical eye serum

As you may have noticed, this eye cream only solves dark circles problem, whereas most of Korean brands’ eye creams solve almost all eye area problems, such as fine lines, wrinkles, etc. That is why I do not solely use Shiseido one, I also have two others. I have been using this eye cream for about four months now, although I don’t use this every day, I don’t see any visible results when waking up in the morning. It does brighten up the skin right after I apply it but it doesn't last long. I feel like I have tried better products than this one, so for its price tag, I definitely expect more. I will continue to use it together with my other eye products and will definitely update you if this product does its job eventually, but for now, it’s not my favorite.

WHAT I LOVE
+ Elegant packaging
+ Nice smell
+ Highly moisturized

WHAT I DON'T LOVE
- Heavy and not hygienic packaging
- Not effective
- Very pricey!

That was all my opinion of Shiseido White Lucent Anti-Dark Circles Eye Cream. The reactions and effectiveness of the product might be different for some people, feel free to try it and please share your thoughts! See you!
